Gone are those days when charismatic leadership was on papers, whereas today’s charismatic leadership is practised by self-confidence in subordinates, ideological vision and the use of personal example. When you set an example you will have to incorporate ideas such as integrity, taking action and following through.
You must keep in mind the following useful strategies for modeling behaviour that will inspire your employees to work hard:
- Lead with honesty
- Create a fluid circle
- Take responsibility
- Be encourageous to praise
- Be inclusive
- Share rewards
- Demonstrate integrity
If this is practiced, then you command the respect and in the present day’s context, you are a manager who leads by an example.
